MEET MAX
Max.
A different route.
Still going somewhere.
A print-shop shift, an unfinished sketch, and a class worth keeping. Max is building a creative life she can actually live in.

HER BACKGROUND
How she got here.
Max left university after three semesters. Seeing her former classmates graduate can still sting. These days, she works at Corner Press, takes a class, and develops her design portfolio. She wants to know what her work can become—and she wants room to make something just because she likes it.
FAMILY & HOME
The people who knew her first.

Mom
They share a home, which means groceries, schedules, and conversations that don’t always end in agreement. Mom sees value in finishing a degree. Max takes that concern seriously while considering tuition, work hours, and the direction she wants to pursue.

Her brother
He has school projects to finish and supplies to collect. His ordinary request to borrow Max’s car gives them something to disagree about. Their relationship also includes the much less dramatic question of where the tape went.
More from her family story · contains spoilers
When Max falls behind on the car payment, she tells Mom it was paid. That lie hurts their trust. Repair takes honest numbers, an explicit repayment agreement, and telling Mom early when a payment needs to change. Her family story keeps going after the confrontation.
HER CIRCLE
Her world is getting bigger.

Maven
The friend she misses when campus and work pull them in different directions. They make room for thrift-store browsing, fries, honest conversations, and separate lives.

Her Corner Press supervisor
Gives Max opportunities to handle client questions and design drafts, reviews the finished work, and still has a shop schedule to cover.

Jules
An artist connection from the community table. There are more sketch meetups to hear about—and no requirement that they agree about drawing buildings.

MORE OF THIS, PLEASE
What makes a good afternoon?
A sunlit chair crowded with plants. A layout that finally works. Drawing with other artists. An outrageous thrift-store find that deserves Maven’s opinion.
