Panel 1: Max considers a design certificate: 8 weeks, $1,200. She thinks: “Maybe this is the next step.” Her WORKING ON IT journal is beside her.
Panel 2: Coursework: typography and layout; software practice; portfolio project and feedback. Max thinks: “Some of this overlaps with my class.”
Panel 3: A junior designer listing asks for a portfolio, print-ready files, client revisions, and meeting deadlines. Max thinks: “Okay. What do they need me to DO?”
Panel 4: Max holds a Community Market design beside her portfolio. She thinks: “I have the class project. I haven’t handled a client’s changes myself.”
Panel 5: Journal, Before I spend $1,200: Course—practice and feedback. Need—a client project and revisions. What would I actually be able to do afterward? Sketches show a design leading to feedback and revised layouts.
Panel 6: Max thinks: “Can I get that experience where I already work?” Her journal says: “Ask at Corner Press.”
