Some things need a real person.

Missy can help you pause, sort a thought, or borrow some words. She cannot keep you safe, handle an emergency, diagnose what is happening, or replace a trusted adult.

Step 1

Tell a trusted adult.

This could be a parent or caregiver, mentor, teacher, school counselor, coach, relative, or another adult you trust.

You can say:

“I need help with something and I don’t know what to do. Can you stay with me while we figure out the next step?”

Your story does not belong in a website box.

Missy’s Room will not ask you to explain the private situation online. If you want help, bring a real person into the moment.

For a young person

Privacy is not secrecy.

Your journal and ordinary private thoughts can belong to you. If something is unsafe, scary, or too big to carry alone, telling a trusted adult is not “breaking” your privacy.

For a grown-up

Respond through the real-world pathway.

If a young person discloses a safety concern, use the safeguarding, program, legal, clinical, or emergency process appropriate to your role and location. Do not route a serious disclosure through Missy’s Room.
