Panel 2: Unsent draft to Mom: “Can you send $15? School stuff.”

Panel 3: Maven thinks: “Wait. That would leave me with nothing.” Her notebook lists living expenses: laundry, toiletries, bus fare.

Panel 4: Maven sends: “I need the remaining $140. That money was for school.”

Panel 5: His reply: “I can’t tonight. Maybe next week.”

Panel 6: The access code is due tonight. Maven thinks: “What am I going to tell Dad?”
