Panel 1: Maven calls Dad: “Dad, I lent him $180 of the money you sent.”
Panel 2: Dad: “That money was for school.” Maven: “I know. He returned $40. He still owes me $140.”
Panel 3: Maven: “I was going to ask Mom for $15 and leave that part out.”
Panel 4: Maven: “Can you pay the $175 access code tonight? I have $160 left for living expenses.”
Panel 5: Dad: “I’m disappointed. I’ll pay the code directly. Tomorrow, we work out what this changes.”
Panel 6: Course access is active. Maven thinks: “He helped. I still have something to repair.” Her notebook says: Still owed: $140.
